It’s Friday … You know the deal.
- My manager is becoming unbearable. But … I’ll survive. I guess I have to!
- Why has my father begun reading the site. Initially I kind of freaked out given the type of stuff I say … but … eh … he’s cool enough … kinda.
- I have to say there is a specific commenter (Cuzzo) who I truly despise right now. She told me the winner of “G’s to Gents” before I had a chance to watch it. Completely ruined the ending. Luckily the person I wanted to win did win … do I couldn’t be too mad.
- I had the opportunity to attend the National Black MBA Career Fair yesterday through some special means. It was inspirational. It is inspiring me in a couple different ways though … so I need to focus a bit.
- I have been reading a biography on Bill Gates. I’ve been reading a couple of books on great technology moguls, but I had yet to read a full book on my personal idol. I gotta say … this is inspiring me too … although Steve Job’s has a story that’s more believable. Maybe I can merge them together. Hmmmmm
- While I have wanted to do some crazy stuff like Feng Shui and whatnot … but … eh. I will admit that the hanging wall aquarium that Comeback posted a link to are hot. That might be the next addition to the shag pad.
- The financial sector is crumbling. Who thought I would actually live though such a major crisis. I mean … this is the stuff you hear about in case studies and that earn nicknames (e.g. Black Sunday).
- Barack should be slaughtering McCain. Uh … is anyone else starting to get nervous?

I am 1st!!!
-I didn't know anyone else watched from G's to Gents. I am glad that person won also. I would have been happy with either one.
-Why is my off day still a busy day with a million errands to run.
-I should start back reading books. I read magazines and the internet for all my information.
-I am watching a vid on diamonds that I think would change alot of peoples mind about how great they are.
-I went to a college party tonite. All the little freshmen were so excited and dressed up. It reminded me of house parties I use to go to back in high school. I definitely won't be attending anymore school parties.
-I think I am losing my desire to blog, and I don't like that feeling.
-I have been in an EXTREME funk this week. I hope it ends soon.
-Seriously, I think I am home sick and want to visit TX for a weekend
-I really hate my copy editing class. The teacher is great but I hate the class. I hate having quizzes every week.
-I am learning to write the things I am grateful for whenever I feel the need to complain. It has helped me alot this week. But I save it for Friday rants.
-The post yesterday was funny. I didn't comment because as I said, I am in a funk.

On to my grati-rants. And all that I am grateful for:
1. I really am super grateful for my job. I do half step sometimes, but I've earned it, I've shown my company ALOT OF MONEY. So instead of asking for a mad increase, I'll just take a little …um…me "internet" time. Besides by the time everybody has gone home, Im still WORKING, at home. And Im grateful.
2. I am grateful my little fish, who have all lived through the very rough 48 hours of temperature water change and the bumpy ride home, have made it. I did lose Rufus Comeback Jones RIP, but Chaka Comeback Jones (who "replaced" him is a tough goldfish) Does she get it from her mama LOl. ***SBM those tanks are so sleek looking. I think Im goin ahead and getting one. 3. I am grateful for giving it the ole college try on this Starbucks working cmte in my subdivision. We weren't able to save it (they close next week), primarily because the older members kept pushing "my property value" and not ACTUALLY patronizing starbucks and BUYING coffee/tea etc. I felt dismissed alot on the Reese Witherspoon/Elle Woods tip with tons of "baby" and "young lady", but people are starting to say that the "approach" the overall cmte had was "wrong". Its all 20/20 now.
4. Back to Feng Shui…im gonna work on somemore stuff in my house this weekend. And I think I'll use that to do a corp rental with my house. tweaked for "productivity and prosperity". And balance the internet overload chi LOL. It will be the first feng shui corporate house.

1) This AIG Leahman Brothers crisis really has me worried. Although the corporation I work for is kicking a*s right now I'm still scared.
2) I am really starting to hate baby-boomers. They have got to be the most selfish, ignorant, greedy, and intolerant generation.
3) When will Americans put their greed in check?
4) So I went to the gathering after the funeral yesterday. My boy's sister owns a salon and is a hairdresser. So a lot of her friends and co-workers were there. There were so many women in that house with swollen backsides it could have been a rap video. This really, really, really, does not help with celibacy.
5) I just bought Call of Duty 4 for PS3. NBA Live, 2K, and DC vs. Mortal Kombat are coming out soon. I really hope these video games help me cope with this celibate thing.
6) I can't decide wether I want to stay in a management position or go back to a more technical job. I really want a job where I can do both.
7) The older I get the more I realize that I am not really built for corporate america. I don't lie, snitch, back stab, or kiss a*s so I don't think it is for me.

The Flip Side:
I am blessed.
As I dropped my daugther off to school this morning watching her blow me a kiss as she does every morning when she says good-bye, I realized just how blessed I am.
I am blessed that I have a job that allows me the flexibility to drop off and pick up my beautiful daughter to/from school.
I am blessed that this job not only allows the flexibility for me to continue my education, but that they also cover a healthy portion of it.
I am blessed to HAVE a job, a rooof over our head, and food which to feed myself and my daughter.
I am blessed that I don't have to walk to work in 80 degree heat just to be able to provide the bare necessities. I may want to do more with my car, but those are wants, my car is just fine the way it is…hell better than fine, some things can wait.
I am blessed to have such a wonderful and supportive family who keeps my daughter while I working towards providing a better future.
I am blessed to have friends who call and participate in my life, those friendships are very important to my success. I should tell them just how much more often.
And I am blessed to have a man in my life who loves me at least 19 of the 24 hours out of the day, lol…what??…i'm a difficult chic at times.
And lastly I have been blessed to know and meet all of you. You really have been an extended family to me, and although most of us have never met I value everything each of you bring to my life…yes including you Sani baby, lol.

My rants/raves – I'm blessed to have people I can trust. I've also learned just in the last few days who I can't trust.
I ran into a high school friend yesterday so that was cool.We have a lot to catch up on.

I've learned when folks are hating on you, apparently you must be doing something right (per Katt Williams–think I might watch the video tonight). Jealousy is an ugly thing and will make folks do and say some crazy stuff–but Karma is a biatch and comes back on that person quicker than they can hate.
SBM – I wouldn't put any stock in the polls. Those polls can be misleading–even to a point of discouraging folks to vote because some folks only need a half of reason for them not to get off their butts and go vote. Don't believe the hype. Obama's doing better than what folks thing. Folks who I knew would be direhard McCain supporters, have jumped shipped with his bad VP choice. Hopefully, this will be shown on voting day–the only poll that really matters.

- I need to work on learning how to be friends with other females. Having all guy friends is great until they all have girlfriends
- I am not looking forward to 20 hours in the car and the pain it will cause in my back

I had to threaten my tenant with an eviction in order to get her to pay rent. She went on to tell me how she can't feed her new born baby and ect… I feel bad I really do but why does that have to affect me? I have a mortgage to pay and welp you and baby would not be saying there long if the mortgage doesn't get paid right?
Good news is her lease is up in January and I am looking forward to re renting the house out or selling it, im leaning towards selling tho….

I talked to my mother last night about 1, 2 and 3. A lot of problems in the country stem from their way of thinking. I also told her about black baby boomers too because a lot of them dropped the ball. In regards to #7 I try to live by a code and what I realize is that a lot of these corporate people dont. Their code is whatever serves their best interest regardless of who gets hurt in the way.

The current economic issues we are having are a DIRECT result of this country's (esp the baby boomer's) complete lack of restraint and excessive lifestyles and piss poor politics…and the fact that as a country we are so reactive…we wait until we are forced to take care of something before we do it…how on earth a country of people who put a man on the moon weren't smart enough to decipher that at some point these raggedy a$$ loans they were giving away and then securtizing, slapping an AAA or Baa on, and selling them to greedy a$$ investors wasn't going to cause any problems is beyond me….and don't get me started on the government failing for years to invest in alternative fuel reasearch and failing to tighten emissions requirements and forcing the big three to start making more fuel efficient cars which probably would've kept them from going under and hundreds of thousands of people loosing their jobs FURTHER compounding the economic issues….LAWD…LET ME GO BACK TO WORK for I pop a blood vessel in my eye.

One of the biggest reasons corporate america has been sucessful is because of the lack of competition and the exploitation of other people. Now that people have learned their game and the competition is greater they have been exposed. I am just baffled by their short-sightedness. And don't get me on the Big 3. Although the global economy has played a role in their problems the way they conduct business has a HUGE role in their current state.

@Breelicious – They were very arrogant in their thinking. Initially the Japanese made terrible cars but they slowly improved. They have a long term strategy as far as business. If you see how Toyota brought Lexus to the market it is basically the blueprint on how you they should operate. The biggest difference is that efficiency was already imbedded in Japanese manufacturing while American manufacturing as of recently are trying to be efficient. A lot of U.S. companies believe being efficient is just being cheap at all ends. What they dont understand is that by designing your process to be effiecient from the beginning the money saved is the by product.

I'm thankful that my power didn't go out. Ike really took a toll in KY, OH, & IN. Some of my co-workers are still without power.

I don't really know about D.C. so i can't compare. but there's a serious lounge movement here, more laid back with a club option (they usually have rooms where you dance) My fave spot is Verve, they've got three floors and a rooftop patio. The second floor usually has a live band, the third floor has drummers and a DJ playing reggae, the first floor is the club scene. There are a few other spots….but uh, they tore compound down.

For all you Obama worriers he's not going to lose, the polls are waaaaay off. His supporters are mainly those 35 and younger, and I don't know about yall, but NONE of my friends have a house phone, not one.
So we aren't included in the polling, he's much farther ahead than the polls are showing. Don't worry, don't put that energy out there, he's going to win.
He will be here tomorrow and I will be there with bells on. Seriously yall, he's going to win. And if you're really worried about it, do something simple. Ask EVERY one of your family memebers if they're registered to vote. If not, go to his site or the post office site and register them. And THEN pick them up and make sure they go to the polls. If we all did our part then we'd be okay.

@say it ain't…thanks homie, but I been on NACA for over a year now, been pubbin' it like I work there. Got a couple friends to close on loans there. Even created a spreadsheet to help people figure out how much they need to have saved up before they walk in the door (which I still haven't sent to Mikki, my bad). It's more about me helping out friends and not being sure where I want to live yet than anything else. I currently rent from a homegirl who couldn't sell her place. I'm out at the end of the year though.

You should get up on Craigslist. it's not enough time right now for you to find, interview, and background check someone for this weekend but def go ahead and get someone you can have on call for future dates. You have to wade through the stuff, but I currenlty have 2 on-call sitters off of there, and they've been very good…and I'm very particular about my investment…i mean, child. Heh heh

Anywhoot I am happy to report that my speaking engagement went well. It was an extremely great and fun not to mention new experience for me and I am super happy to have been able to do the event. People seemed to really enjoy what I had to say and I think I made a good impact. Come January prayerfully I will be teaching FPU. I got a lot of feedback and im looking forward to getting people enrolled!

We just back from the Obama rally and it had to be like 30,000 people out there and we were near the front…got plenty of pics and video of our future president.
Also the fire marshall had to shut it down an hour before he got there because we were at capacity and these ignant folks broke down the police barrier to attempt to get inside, some were arrested. Apparently 8,000 people were left outside.
When he came to the stage he was shocked at the turnout, gave a riveting speech, mostly funny and entertaining and then we were out.
Off to smokey bones and then a friend's house for games and movies, or bowling and putt putt with my sister and brother in law.
