It's not like their child was going to be forthcoming and tell their parent that they were failing and didn't want to do homework. I think than can be understandable if the parent wasn't informed of the failed test and lack of interest in homework until that day. It's not like their child was going to be forthcoming and tell their parent that they were failing and didn't want to do homework.
