Being a full-time mother is one of the highest salaried jobs… since the payment is pure love. ~Mildred B. Vermont

A young Tunde with my mother.

Today we celebrate the women who brought us into this world. The women who loved us before they ever laid eyes on us. Who love us unconditionally even when we don’t deserve it. Who helped shaped us into the people who we are today. Happy Mother’s Day to my mother and to all mothers across the world. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers who are no longer with us and even those single fathers who play the role of mother and father.

I have a few questions to ask you. Have you thanked your mother for the sacrifice she has made for years?  Just for you to be the best person you could be? Have you told your mother, “I love you”? I know its three simple words but sometimes we forget the weight behind those words. More often than not, it’s difficult for some to say, “I love you” or “Thank you” for whatever the reasons. Today is the perfect day to express how thankful and happy you are to have a wonderful and lovable mother.

Today even though I couldn’t be with my mother one of the first things I did this morning was call my mother and I told her how much I appreciate her for everything that she has done and still does for me. I’m nowhere near a momma’s boy but I do talk to my mother at least once a week and she still wants the best for me. If you are fortunate enough to see your mother today give her a kiss and a long hug.
