As you can probably tell, we’re trying to take SBM to the next level. In order to get there, we’ll need some help. SBM is the source for urban male perspective on topics men find interesting and questions women want answered. This includes, but is not limited to, subjects such as pop culture, politics, music, relationships, lifestyle and fashion. At our core, we are writers– artists. We seek to express ourselves through this medium with the hopes of sparking dialogue and thought around issues we’re passionate about.
In doing so, SBM has won several accolades including Best Sex & Relationship blog (2009), Best Blog Design (2011), a spot on Ebony Magazine’s 2011 Power 100 list and a feature on Black Enterprise as a part of their 2012 Black Bloggers’ Month celebration. SBM has also been featured and/or profiled on Essence and Clutch Magazine’s websites in addition to other online publications. SBM writers have also made appearances on syndicated radio shows such as the Michael Baisden and Tom Joyner shows.
SBM is looking for a part-time (10-15 hours per week) Social Media Coordinator to help implement our social media strategy and assist in taking our online brand to the next level. Key areas include the following:
- Development of polls, questions of the day, and surveys for our online community.
- Sharing interesting stories, videos, and photos from around the web via Facebook and Twitter.
- Interacting with Facebook Fans and Twitter Followers.
- Highlighting interesting comments from daily blog posts on Facebook.
- Responding to incoming questions.
- Assisting in the development of contests and promotional campaigns.
Candidates for the Social Media Coordinator role should have a demonstrated interest in social media and online communications (Classes taken, current blog, guest posts, etc.).
